Apply Now: Pro-Bono 2010
It’s been quite a few years now that Plank has had an unofficial policy of taking on an annual Pro-Bono project. When we run into a cause that the team feels passionate about we are happy to get involved to make a difference. From non-profits, to filmmakers to musicians we have offered our time for projects that we felt were important and that we knew we could have a major impact on.
This year, we’ve decided to go a bit more official with our yearly pro-bono project and rather than wait for something to stumble into our laps, ask you, the internet:
“Are you an organization, artist or non-profit looking to do something important online and want to work with a great team? If you do, please let us know.”
If that sounds like you then please submit a short letter (one page will do) explaining what the project is about, what you want to do online and why you think you could benefit from our expertise.
What kind of projects should be submitted?
I’ll be honest and say the selection criteria for what we are going to take on is completely subjective. We are going to choose something that excites us. We are going choose a project that we can succeed at. We are going to take on a project that has definitive goals that are well defined.
We are taking applications starting immediately and will be closing off submissions September 15th. We will then select the project within the following 2 weeks, set up a meeting with the selected team and hopefully come to an agreement and tell all of you about it by October 1st, 2010.
Are you interested? If so, just send an email to info@plankdesign.com with the subject heading “Pro-Bono 2010”. We promise to read over all applications carefully and hope to be back in touch with all or most of you directly.
If you have any comments or questions about the application, post them here and we will address them as quickly as possible!
Looking forward to hearing from you.

My not for Profit organization is named “The Foundation of positive tools for use in todays challenging school”. It is a simple yet distinctly effective organization. The idea that this organization operates on, is that the children, our most important gift, they need to be taught to utilize all the potential they are bestowed. This organization has ten modules that will be taught to the students while they attend the clubhouse (one module per weekly visit). After they complete the short module, then they can do whatever hobby/sport they want. The idea is that the members learn the positive tools and also learn how to have fun, doing what they are interested in ie. art, dance, theater and of course fundraising will be then incorporated into their fun. Attached will be the outline as to see what the modules pertain to.
Hi Amanda.
Thanks for the brief look into what your non-profit is doing. I’m looking forward to getting your outline and good luck!
