The Foundation funds programs that support Canadians in building a better society

The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation funds programs that support Canadians in building a more inclusive, sustainable and resilient society. It has a long history of helping to make Canada a better place. It is a foundation unlike any other in Canada. And now, thanks to Plank, they have a website that reflects that.
The Foundation has a long history, but the site is all about moving forward. As Sarah (the project manager) said, the site is "respectful of the past, but looking forward." The goal was to highlight the four themes that the Foundation is focusing on moving forward - inclusion, resilience, sustainability, and innovation.
Lead designer GW Brazier faced the challenge of reflecting the strength and commitment of the Foundation in the new site. He wanted to make the site approachable and not intimidating. Boy has he succeeded. The new site exudes confidence while still being approachable. It is somewhat stoic, representing the importance of the Foundation, yet is very warm and welcoming.
The site is backed by a content management system that is brilliantly easy to use, and takes CMS's to the next level by using javascript to make the content editing even that much easier and quicker.
There are big plans for the future of the site to all sorts of new interactive features. Currently, the site presents a wealth of information, but in the future a real dialogue will exist between users and the Foundation.
So check it out, and help contribute to the well-being of all Canadians.
