Change is good. I truly believe that. I also believe that each person, in whatever way they choose, can make the world a better place. It doesn’t have to be grand gestures; changing the world can come from the passion you feel for the work you do, how you love the people in your life or the kindness you bestow on strangers.
For 20 years I told people’s stories. And each one mattered. It’s how I felt I was making a difference. Offering a platform for people to share their experiences and for those watching to be inspired, to fight for change, to be informed, to learn, to be moved. I still do that, I’ve just changed platforms, and gone online. Let me tell you a little about Plank, and about why I’m proud to be a member of this inspiring, creative team.
When Plank founder Warren Wilansky first described creative digital design to me, I was hooked. A website, he explained, is like real estate in the sky. Much like a home, someone has to design it, build it, decide how each room weaves seamlessly into the other, and make sure those who move through the site feel satisfied and at the end of their stay. Lovely isn’t it? It’s a story in itself.
Plank, a longtime Montreal digital design agency, strives to give individuals, companies and organizations a way to share who they are, what they do, what they build, create, shape and love. Plank is taking sacred experiences online by designing the website for the Canadian Encyclopedia. They embrace higher education, working with both the city’s English universities, and many more across Canada. Arts and culture is in its blood, as museums, theatres, film and music festivals are longtime clients. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Plank creates meaningful websites, with meaningful companies and institutions. And I’m excited to be showcasing the people behind the companies we work with and telling their stories in a caring, collaborative way. I’ll also be exploring the myriad discussions and achievements surrounding technology, the future of digital and the role of women in the industry.
