At Plank, we love design. Whether it’s pixels, paper or something more permanent, we spend our days thinking about shaping the environment around us. So we thought that we should blog about it a bit more often.

One of the questions that tugs at our brain strings is: in a world so crowded with demands on our attention, how can we be more effective, and work more creatively? We’re pretty lucky with our lovely workspace here but many companies struggle to mix hand-me-down corporate cubicles with creativity.

We’re digging a new office concept from Lista Office that offers an innovative solution to the problem. Designed by Swiss studio Greutmann Bolzern, it won a ‘best of the best’ red dot design award this year. The Mindport system consists of futuristic pods with multiple uses. There are three-person booths, perfect for project collaboration, enclosed retreats for quiet time and café style tables for daily stand-ups. And the hubs are fully portable, so if your start-up starts to need bigger premises, you can take your office with you.

How’s that for flexible working?
