How to connect the stories of Canada’s past to upcoming, younger generations? This is the goal of the Juno Beach and Vimy Ridge Foundations—to engage and educate Canadians of all ages about Canada’s involvement in the First and Second World Wars.
Bridging Our Shared Histories Across Canada
Plank was honoured to help develop From Vimy To Juno—a multi-phased web project that explores the depth of Canada’s culture and identity through the lens of those who fought in and survived both World Wars.
From Vimy to Juno: Coming Soon To A Town Near You
For the first phase of this project, Plank developed a bilingual, responsive website showcasing rare archival imagery and information about the accompanying travelling exhibition.
An Educational Resource For a New Generation
The upcoming phases of this digital experience will include a series of learning tools for educators and the general public, along with a variety of themes and modules designed to explore the connections between the World Wars.
"You guys are rock star partners."— Jenna Zuschlag Misener, Juno Beach Centre
This project was funded by The Department of Canadian Heritage's Commemorate Canada Fund, associated with the celebration of Canada 150.
